Galaxy Book 3

The Galaxy Book 3 series, which includes the first-ever Ultra laptop model from the manufacturer, has been presented by Samsung. The 120Hz, 2,880 x 1,800 “Dynamic AMOLED 2X” displays used in the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 convertible, and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra are all directly derived from Samsung’s higher-end smartphones.

Although the Pro 360 only supports touch input, it nonetheless boasts vibrant colors (supporting 120 percent of the DCI-P3 gamut), quick responses, and DisplayHDR True Black 500 support.

Samsung’s Galaxy Book 3 Ultra features

It should come as no surprise that the 16-inch Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra (seen above) is advertised as a performance powerhouse. This computer is primarily designed for gaming and comes with up to a 13th-generation Intel Core i9 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics. Additional features include a 1080p webcam, an AKG-tuned quad-speaker array with Dolby Atmos sound, up to 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD (with an extension slot), and these.

Additionally, there are two Thunderbolt 4 connections, one USB-A port, a microSD card, a headphone socket, and HDMI to complete the connectivity. Thanks to a “complete” aluminum frame, which is also found in other models, the Ultra weighs 3.9 pounds and is 0.65 inches thick, making it a lightweight system despite its specifications.

They are more traditional thin-and-light portables than the Galaxy Book 3 Pro and Pro 360 (in the middle). Both rely on integrated Iris Xe graphics and support up to a 13th-generation Core i7. They have the ports of the Ultra and support up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, however, they are neither HDMI 2.0 compatible nor expandable like the Ultra (only HDMI 1.4). Unlike the Pro 360, which is only offered in a 16-inch (3.7 lbs) configuration, the Pro is available in both a very lightweight (2.42 lbs) 14-inch model and a 16-inch (3.4 lbs) version. Although 5G is an option, the touchscreen laptop does have it.

Prices for the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Pro 360, and Ultra begin at $1,249, $1,399, and $2,199, respectively. Pre-orders can now be placed.

The Pro and Pro 360 notebooks will be the first to ship on February 17. But the Ultra is the star of the show as it’s one of the few portable laptops that can still give the performance required for gaming and intensive media editing.
