As we step into a brand new year, it’s time to set fresh goals and resolutions. Samsung has done just that, announcing its strategic plans for 2024 through a joint New Year’s message from co-CEO and Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee and co-CEO and President Kyung Kye-hyun.

Samsung looks forward to 2024 with Galaxy AI, a new perspective for its Galaxy phones

In their statement, the executives highlighted Samsung’s commitment to pioneering “super-gap technologies” as part of its strategy to maintain a competitive edge in the tech industry. The primary focus for Samsung this year will be on boosting its competitiveness through technological superiority and adaptability to future shifts.

The leadership underscored a customer-centric approach across Samsung’s mobile, home appliances, and software sectors, with an emphasis on performance and quality. They further urged the company’s semiconductor manufacturing arm to strengthen its market position by widening the technological gap with its rivals.

The executives also emphasized the need for proactive strategies to navigate future tech trends, such as artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable practices, and lifestyle innovations. Notably, they advocated for the application of generative AI to work processes, aiming for a revolutionary shift in work methods and device experiences.

The message stated: “We should revolutionize the way we work and our device experience by applying generative AI to work. Moving from the passive green response of the past, we should pull off a fundamental shift in thinking and discover the green products of the future”.

With the upcoming launch of the Galaxy S24 series anticipated to heavily feature AI, it seems Samsung’s mobile division is already aligning with this focus. As we progress through 2024, it will be interesting to see how Samsung’s various divisions implement these strategic goals.
