Samsung’s upcoming Chromebook with Intel 7th-gen SoC, powerful Sony IMX258 Camera sensor
NEW DELHI: Samsung in the last month rumoured to be working on a first-ever detachable Chromebook. According to some codes founded by certain websites, the upcoming Samsung Chromebook is being referred to as ‘Nautilus’.
The device is once again said to support Intel 7th-gen processor, which means it will be one of the most powerful Chromebooks around upon its launch. ‘Nautilus’ could also have its high-end camera as one of the selling
points. According to the website, the Chromebook may feature a camera with Sony IMX258 sensor. This is the same sensor that is used in the LG G6, the South Korean tech giant flagship smartphone of last year.
The new notebook comes with a built out of a magnesium-aluminum alloy the company’s deemed “Metal12”, that’s lighter than just aluminium and should bring a more premium feel than past plastic like laptop builds. They all are going to be equipped with a 1920 x 1280 displays and Intel HD graphics.

The 15-inch can be upgraded to NVIDIA GeForce MX150. The systems also feature Windows Hello log-in through a fingerprint sensor and port the secure Privacy Folder feature from the company’s mobile offerings.
Although there are no other details available for the upcoming device, previous reports point towards a Galaxy Book-like detachable design. We may see something coming from Samsung in next few days during CES 2018
conference.
Samsung is not new to Google’s Chromebook series as the company already has made a few Chromebooks. Only time will tell what the South Korean tech firm has in store for the market.

The design of Google’s recently-launched PixelBook is also on the similar lines though. The search giant took the wraps off its PixelBook in late October last year. The hybrid laptop is priced at $999 for the Intel Core i5
processor+128GB SSD configuration. There are two more configurations priced at $200 and $650 over and above $900 price tag. The hybrid laptop has 360-degree rotating hinge using which users can view content in different
modes.
Some of the key features of the device are the 12.3-inch screen with QHD resolution, up to 16GB RAM and 512GB inbuilt SSD storage, Google Assistant, Chrome OS and battery up to 10 hours.
The Notebook 9 pen, meanwhile, has a 360-degree hinge and a Samsung S Pen stylus and detachable keyboard. This time out, it also adds a front-facing IR camera for log-in via facial recognition.
