Samsung unveiled an incredible 57-inch gaming monitor at the CES 2023 event and it was the new Odyssey Neo G9. Samsung didn’t specify the Odyssey Neo G9’s price or availability at the time of its announcement. However, the business is now at least letting us know exactly when it will be available in stores: August 23. In a teaser video uploaded on YouTube, the business announced the debut date but gave no information regarding pricing.
To give you some context, the Odyssey Ark has a 55-inch Mini-LED display and a $2,999 MSRP when purchased directly from Samsung, however, it is now available on Amazon for $2,500. The 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 may cost well over $3,000 given its somewhat larger size and even more impressive specifications.
Samsung claims that the 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 utilises a Mini-LED panel with a native contrast of 1,000,000:1 and VESA Display HDR 1000 certification, as well as Dual UHD resolution (7680 x 2160).
In other words, you would effectively have a 32:9 aspect ratio by using two 4K monitors placed side by side. Given the size of this monitor, it’s not surprising that Samsung chose to wrap the display with a tight 1000R curve to create a more immersive viewing experience.
As you might anticipate, the display supports HDMI 2.1 and is the first monitor on the market to integrate DisplayPort 2.1, given its Dual UHD resolution and quick 240Hz refresh rate.
Samsung also mentioned that the screen would adopt its Smart Hub, which gives access to streaming media apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube when it launched the 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 in January. Along with native access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now game streaming services, it will also support the Samsung Gaming Hub.
