Samsung has announced the release of a new and upgraded robust version of the T7 Shield Portable SSD, which has new durability features. The new T7 Shield Portable SSD is made with a tough rubberized material that is resistant to dust and water. While the overall shape and style remain unchanged, the increased protection is a great bonus.

The robust T7 Shield is only slightly heavier and bulkier than the T7 Shield or T7 Touch in normal form. Samsung has given the tough T7 Shield Portable SSD an IP65 classification, which means it will be protected from dust and water in the event of an accidental spill. The T7 Shield SSD comes with a USB-C connector that supports USB 3.2. (Gen 2 10Gbps). It has read/write rates of up to 1,050/1,000Mbps, though.

The tough T7 Shield is a simple SSD that functions similarly to the ordinary model. However, it differs significantly from the T7 Touch, which includes a fingerprint sensor for added security. There are no compatibility issues because it works on both Mac and Windows computers. Nonetheless, if you need to carry your SSD outside for work or personal reasons, it’s a fine option. It comes in Black, Blue, and Beige hues, with 1TB and 2TB storage options. If you want to get your hands on the Samsung T7 Shield Portable SSD, it will set you back $143.99.
