Samsung is bagging big surprises internally for all of us; the reports are indicating that at least. We all are aware of the collaboration between Samsung Electronics and AMD to make a mobile GPU solution.
You can say these two companies are working closely to come up with a replacement for the Mali GPU. The new GPU solution is currently rumoured to introduce inside the Exynos 2200 in the second quarter of this year. It’s not all yet.
As per Samsung’s last announcement, the mobile GPU will be launched in its next flagship product. Most of the fans assume the phrase ‘next flagship product’ as a smartphone. But at the current time, the assumption moves towards an ARM-based Windows 10 laptop, and the said Exynos 2200 would power it.
The reason is a statement of an official person to ZDNet where he said, “Currently, Samsung Electronics is reviewing to install the Exynos AP on a slim notebook similar to the Galaxy Book S released last year.”
However, this is not the first time Samsung works on ARM Windows 10 notebook; it already has in its portfolio. But all those get power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips. By assigning its own SoC to the notebooks, the company probably is challenging Qualcomm and reducing its dependency.
