Samsung’s product line and recently Low Power Compression Attached Memory Module, or LPCAMM, is the company’s most recent release. Samsung revealed today that LPCAMM provides up to 128GB of DDR5 memory for laptops while taking up 60% less space. Here are the specifics…
Samsung has introduced the Low Power Compression Attached Memory Module, or LPCAMM.
The primary distinction between this memory technology and ordinary DDR5 memory is its improved overall efficiency. According to Samsung, the new LPCAMM modules can achieve memory throughput of up to 7.5 gigabits per second, which is 50% faster than current SO-DIMM memory modules.
Furthermore, LPCAMM modules use 70% less power, extending the battery life of laptops and other mobile devices. Furthermore, they achieve all of this while taking up 60% less room. Because LPCAMM memories are less in size, they may lead to the creation of thinner and lighter computers.
According to Samsung, LPCAMM modules might be used in a variety of mobile devices, including tablets and smartphones. The company has not yet stated when consumers would be able to purchase LPCAMM modules. The company does, however, state that it is working with partners to bring LPCAMM-equipped products to market in the near future.
