Samsung Innovation Campus Season 2: Empowering Indian Youth in Future-Tech Domains

Samsung, India’s leading consumer electronics brand, has launched the second season of its national skilling program, the Samsung Innovation Campus. This initiative is designed to upskill youth in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary expertise to excel in these future-tech domains. The program targets youth aged 18-25 years, aiming to enhance their employability and foster a culture of innovation.

Samsung’s Commitment to Skill Development and Growth

The Samsung Innovation Campus program reinforces Samsung’s dedication to being a key contributor to India’s growth story. Aligned with government initiatives such as Skill India and Digital India, this program creates avenues for the youth to explore and excel in emerging technologies. Through a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), Samsung aims to train 3,500 students across India, providing them with valuable skills and knowledge in high-demand tech fields.

Opportunities Beyond Skilling

This year’s program offers more than just skill development. National toppers in each domain will receive a cash award of INR 1 Lakh and an exclusive opportunity to visit Samsung facilities in Delhi/NCR. These visits will enable students to interact with Samsung’s leadership team, gaining invaluable mentorship and insights. Additionally, top performers will receive exciting Samsung products like Samsung Galaxy Buds and Samsung Galaxy Smartwatches, further motivating them to excel in their chosen field.

A Vision for the Future

Mr. JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, emphasized the company’s commitment to skill-based learning and empowering the youth for professional growth opportunities. Through the Samsung Innovation Campus, Samsung aims to create job opportunities in future tech domains, effecting meaningful change in the tech landscape and contributing to a sustainable future for India.

Collaboration for Skill Development

Partnering with ESSCI, a national-level skilling organization under the Ministry of Skill Development, Samsung aims to reach a diverse group of students, including those in smaller towns with limited access to quality education. The program offers a blend of instructor-led classroom training and online sessions, ensuring participants receive comprehensive training in their selected technology areas.

Structured Curriculum and Hands-On Learning

Participants will engage in theoretical training, practical project work, and soft skills development tailored to their selected course track. The curriculum includes immersive hackathons, capstone projects, and expert mentorship by Samsung employees. The program structure varies based on the chosen course track, ensuring participants receive a well-rounded education in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming.

Future Expansion and Impact

The Samsung Innovation Campus program will span eight educational institutions across four states, establishing training centers in key regions to facilitate skill development among the youth. The program is set to kick off in April 2024, with a specially designed six-month course culminating in October 2024. Recognizing top performers and celebrating their achievements is an integral part of this initiative, as announced in November 2024.

Empowering Future Leaders through Innovation

Samsung’s involvement in skilling programs like the Samsung Innovation Campus underscores its commitment to nurturing talent and driving meaningful change in India. By equipping the youth with essential skills and knowledge, Samsung aims to empower future leaders who will drive innovation and progress in the country. Through initiatives like these, Samsung continues its journey of nation-building through corporate social responsibility, setting the stage for a brighter and more innovative future for India.
