Nurturing Tech Leaders of Tomorrow

The journey of 92 students from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai, culminated in a hackathon held from August 23 to 25, 2023, at Govt. Polytechnic Berla Boriya, Chhattisgarh. Their dedication and hard work were rewarded with certificates of course completion during a felicitation ceremony at the prestigious Chhatrapati Shivaji Institute of Technology (CSIT) in Durg, Chhattisgarh. This significant moment was graced by officials from Samsung and the Electronics Sectors Skills Council of India (ESSCI), the program’s execution partner with a nationwide network of approved training and education partners.

The first batch of graduates emerged as certified tech professionals in forward-looking domains like Coding and programming and IoT. This accomplishment stands as a testament to the program’s effectiveness in transforming young minds into skilled tech experts, equipped to thrive in a dynamic digital landscape. These courses aren’t just about education; they are a pathway to being job-ready in the rapidly evolving tech industry.

Samsung’s Youth-Centric Vision

Mr. Hyun Kim, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, expressed Samsung’s belief in the power of youth and its commitment to shaping a skilled workforce for India’s digital future. He stated, “At Samsung, we believe in the power of the youth and want to contribute in creating a pool of skilled workforce to better India’s digital future. Through this initiative, we want to empower the youth and create opportunities for them in future tech domains, further boosting India’s growth story and strengthening our commitment to Powering Digital India.”

Samsung India launched the groundbreaking Samsung Innovation Campus program across eight campuses with a mission to upskill 3,000 underprivileged youth in crucial future tech domains, including AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding and programming. By bridging the gap between education and employability, Samsung is instrumental in fostering a brighter future for India’s young minds.

Preparing for the Future

In an era dominated by rapid technological advancements, the Samsung Innovation Campus is a beacon of hope and opportunity. Its comprehensive program design empowers individuals aged 18-25 with essential skills needed for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants engage in instructor-led classroom training, ensuring they grasp the core concepts that underpin the tech world.

The program goes beyond technical skills, recognizing the importance of soft skills in holistic professional development. Students are guided to complete hands-on capstone projects in areas like Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Big Data, and Coding and programming. These projects not only solidify their learning but also give them a taste of real-world application.

A Holistic Approach to Learning

As the program emphasizes hands-on experience, participants are equipped with the tools to succeed. Those opting for the AI course undergo 270 hours of theory training and complete 80 hours of project work. Students in the IoT or Big Data courses immerse themselves in 160 hours of training, coupled with 80 hours of project work. Participants in the Coding & Programming course dive into 80 hours of training and actively participate in a Hackathon, enhancing their problem-solving abilities.

Ultimately, the Samsung Innovation Campus program aims to create a new generation of professionals who are not only adept in technology but also possess the critical thinking and innovation skills to drive India’s tech landscape forward.

A Vision in Motion

Samsung Innovation Campus isn’t just an initiative; it’s a transformative movement. By empowering youth with future-ready skills, Samsung is contributing to India’s growth story in an unprecedented way. As the program continues to expand its reach, more youth across India will have the opportunity to become tech leaders, driving India’s progress and innovation on the global stage.

With Samsung Innovation Campus, India’s youth are poised to lead, innovate, and redefine the nation’s digital destiny.
