Empowering India’s Youth through Samsung Innovation Campus: Revolutionizing Tech Education

In a significant stride towards empowering the youth and equipping them with future tech skills, Samsung India’s flagship CSR program, ‘Samsung Innovation Campus,’ celebrated a momentous occasion as the first batch of students in Karimnagar, Telangana, graduated with certificates in Coding & Programming. This ambitious program aims to foster a skilled workforce and contribute to India’s digital revolution, aligning with the mission of #PoweringDigitalIndia. With a commitment to being India’s strong partner, Samsung has collaborated with the Government to provide invaluable opportunities to the country’s youth.

Unveiling the Potential: Samsung Innovation Campus

Under the umbrella of its flagship CSR program, Samsung India plans to impart advanced skills in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming to a total of 3,000 students across eight cities in the country in 2023. With the first batch successfully culminating in a Hackathon, the program has laid a solid foundation for future technologists, innovators, and leaders. The Coding & Programming course in Karimnagar, held at the esteemed SRR Government College of Arts & Science, witnessed 93 bright minds graduate and receive course completion certificates.

Fostering Talent through Mentorship

The success of Samsung Innovation Campus is attributed to the relentless dedication and expertise of mentors and trainers who guided the students throughout the course. Samsung, in collaboration with the Electronics Sectors Skills Council of India (ESSCI), executed the program through a network of approved training and education partners. The felicitation ceremony for the students marked a memorable moment as they were congratulated by officials from Samsung and ESSCI, highlighting the program’s significance in shaping the future of tech education in India.

Tackling Real-World Challenges: The Hackathon

As part of the program, the students participated in a hackathon, where they had the opportunity to tackle real-world challenges using their newly acquired coding and programming skills. The problem statements presented to them covered diverse topics, including women’s safety, SOS alert and location tracking platform, biometric authentication systems for secure voting, and innovative patient record management databases on the cloud.

Fueling India’s Digital Future

Mr. Hyun Kim, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, expressed the company’s belief in the potential of India’s youth. Samsung aims to create a vast pool of skilled professionals who will contribute to India’s digital growth and technological prowess. Through Samsung Innovation Campus, the company is providing a platform to empower the youth and create vast opportunities in future tech domains. By upskilling young individuals, Samsung is fortifying its commitment to #PoweringDigitalIndia.

The Multi-Dimensional Approach of Samsung Innovation Campus

Samsung India introduced the Samsung Innovation Campus program across eight campuses throughout the country, targeting the upskilling of 3,000 less-privileged youth in futuristic tech domains like AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming. The program aims to equip youth aged 18-25 years with crucial technology skills required for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants receive instructor-led classroom training from ESSCI’s approved training and education partners across the nation.

The comprehensive program encompasses not only classroom training but also hands-on capstone projects in selected technology areas. Participants are given the opportunity to work on projects related to Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Big Data, and Coding & Programming. Additionally, soft skills training enhances their employability and ensures a well-rounded learning experience. The program culminates with job placements in relevant organizations, helping students kickstart their careers in the tech industry.

The Path to Excellence: Nurturing Tech Talent

Participants opting for the AI course undergo 270 hours of theory training, complemented by 80 hours of project work. Those choosing the IoT or Big Data course receive 160 hours of training and complete 80 hours of project work. Students who enroll in the Coding & Programming course partake in 80 hours of training, culminating in an exhilarating Hackathon.

Samsung Innovation Campus has emerged as a beacon of hope for aspiring technologists, providing them with an unparalleled platform to shape their futures in the world of technology. By fostering talent, nurturing skills, and providing access to cutting-edge tech education, Samsung is spearheading the digital transformation of India’s youth.

It reflects Samsung India’s commitment to being a catalyst for change and empowering the country’s youth. As the program continues to expand its reach and create opportunities, it not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to the growth of the nation’s digital landscape. Through this visionary initiative, Samsung is shaping the future of tech education in India, igniting a passion for technology, and creating a generation of future leaders who will drive India’s technological advancements and #PowerDigitalIndia.
