Samsung India has recently revealed the latest iteration of its nationwide campus initiative called Samsung E.D.G.E. This program aims to engage talented individuals from esteemed educational institutions across India in solving real-world challenges. By participating in the program, students have the chance to learn from Samsung’s esteemed leaders and develop innovative solutions to these problems.
Students from a total of 35 campuses, which consist of prestigious business schools, engineering colleges, and design schools, are set to take part in the upcoming event that will be conducted across multiple campuses.
The program will take place in three rounds where the first round will focus on ideation. The team members are expected to collaborate and construct an executive case summary based on thorough research and analysis. Following the campus round, 45 shortlisted teams will proceed to the regional round, where they delve into the case study, submitting and presenting detailed solutions. Once the regional round concludes, top 10 teams will be selected and mentored by Samsung leaders on their respective solutions. These final 10 teams will then compete in a National Round and top three teams will be announced as winners.
Every team will consist of up to three students selected from various fields of expertise. Each team will have the opportunity to present their distinct solution, demonstrating advanced innovation and strong leadership abilities. The top three teams will have a chance to receive cash rewards, a flagship Galaxy smartphone, and even a potential opportunity to collaborate with Samsung.

In 2022, 2620 teams across India participated in the program to present the innovative solutions they built. Out of these, team Transcendence of IIM Bangalore secured victory for presenting an innovative and unconventional approach to drive the adoption of IoT devices among consumers in India. Team Srujan from NID Bangalore emerged as the runner-up for showcasing their design solution that leverages gamification through full-motion video to enable contemporary modes of direct communication with consumers. Team G.U.G. hailing from IIFT earned the third spot for presenting a solution that enable consumers to experience the connected devices ecosystem through an in-store smart home model and a Metaverse experience store.
