Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 expected to have same 200MP camera sensor as Galaxy S24 Ultra

A tweet on X (formerly Twitter) from tipster Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) suggests that Samsung is thinking of making the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 with the camera from the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Though this might be a mistype, the tipster claims in the article that “the Fold6 with the same camera sensor as the S24 Ultra instead of decreasing the battery capacity.”

Perhaps more accurately described as “increasing” than as “decreasing,” this indicates that Samsung intends to replace the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s outdated primary camera sensor with a more modern model rather than expanding the battery.

The article claims that Samsung and its partners are collaborating to develop a foldable smartphone display that will be distinct from the Galaxy Z Fold 5 that is already available. It also suggests that the cutting-edge device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, will be the one to introduce it.

Three rear cameras are featured on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, including a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 may have a smaller design and a larger display, according to a prior leak. Larger internal and external displays than the model that came before are predicted for the phone. In addition to its 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex primary display, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 boasts a 6.2-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen.
