Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: All you need to know about the specifications, price and leaked details

Foldables have seen a sustained increase in popularity over the past few years, and a good chunk of that credit goes to Samsung. Samsung entered the foldable space with the original Galaxy Fold, which had a fair few flaws. The company took the criticism on the chin, went back to the drawing board, and returned with a fixed product. On the flagship line, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 arrived sometime later, marking the strongest attempt at a foldable on a wide scale. Now it’s 2021, and that means it’s time for the next foldable. Here’s what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the next premier foldable flagship from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications (Leaked)

Samsung has been featuring top-of-the-line SoCs on its foldable so far, and there’s no indication this will change with the Z Fold 3. As such, it would be fair to expect something like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or the Exynos 2100 (hopefully not) on the device, coupled with generous amounts of RAM and storage. There’s unlikely to be expandable storage though, but we’re hoping to see larger storage variants like a 1TB option. On the inside, FCC reports suggest we would see support for Ultra Wide Band (UWB), sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G, Wireless PowerShare and Wi-Fi 6E.

The phone is rumoured to come with a 7.70-inch touchscreen primary display. It also features a 5.40-inch touchscreen as its second display, with a resolution of 816×2260 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 supports proprietary fast charging. The exact camera configuration of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is not yet known, but it can be expected to pack a multi rear camera setup.

The Z Fold 3 runs One UI 3.5 is based on Android 11 and packs 256GB of inbuilt storage. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 are said to include Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on the phone are rumoured to include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 pricing (Leaked)

A report from SamMobile claims the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could see a launch price that’s 20% less than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. That would be $200 off or as cheap as $1,599. However, this has been the only such report thus far. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 debuted a hefty $1,999, making it Samsung’s most expensive phone by far, even after a permanent price cut to $1,799.
