Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Will Switch to Exynos 2500 SoC, Larger Display, and Bigger Battery Expected
Samsung will provide the Z Flip 7 with the Exynos 2500 chipset, as per The Chosun Daily. This is a divergence from the Snapdragon processors that have powered all Galaxy Flip devices until now. The switch to Exynos is reportedly due to cost considerations, as the smaller shipment volume of foldables, compared to the Galaxy S series, makes it more financially viable to use Samsung’s in-house chipset.
The report adds that Samsung struggled with low-yield rates for its 3nm node on the Exynos 2500, but the issues have been fixed now. The Z Flip 7 is set to begin mass production this month, with an initial batch of 200,000 units. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to continue using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (likely branded as Snapdragon 8 Elite) chipset, maintaining the premium performance standards of the Fold series.
Leaked renders suggest the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature a larger 4-inch cover display, an upgrade over the Flip 6. It is also expected to run One UI 8 based on Android 16 right out of the box. As per 3C certification, the device will support 25W fast charging and could pack a 4,174mAh battery—slightly bigger than the 4,000mAh unit in the previous model. To recall, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 launched in India with a starting price of ₹1,09,999, giving us a rough benchmark for the Z Flip 7’s expected pricing.
