Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro launched with bigger batteries

Samsung recently unveiled its latest Galaxy Watch 5 Series, the wearable is inclined towards those who prioritize their health, fitness, and lifestyle. There are three new models namely, a vanilla Watch5 in 40mm and 44mm along with the Watch5 Pro with a 45mm dial. Let us take a look at the details of these wearables.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 Series is its most durable to date

Samsung has used the Sapphire Crystal display this time and it offers up to 60% more resistance against scratches and is there on all three models. The watches have been certified for 5ATM water resistance along with an IP68 rating and the MIL-STD-810H durability certification.

The Galaxy Watch5 has a 1.2″ display while the Watch5 Pro has a 1.4″ display. All the models arrive with the Always On Display mode, the iconic Classic Watch seems to have been foregone by the brand this time. The Pro version of the wearable is the most durable and feature-rich to date.

The Sapphire Crystal ensures an extremely durable build, with a protruding bezel that protects the display along with a titanium chassis. The sport band has a new D buckle design without any holes and the ability to adjust the length as per one’s convenience.

The Pro version arrives with a 590mAh battery while the vanilla ones arrive with a 284mAh battery for the 40mm dial and 410mAh for the 44m dial version. Users can get up to 8 hours of battery life on an 8-minute charge. With 30 minutes of charge, the battery can go up to 45%.

All three wearables run on the Exynos W920 chip and it arrives with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB storage. For OS, we get One UI Watch 4.5. The Pro model allows users to supply a predetermined route, users can record route data and share it with their friends and family in case they wish to undertake a similar journey.

There is support for turn-by-turn navigation with just vibration and voice guidance as well which will keep users on the right track, it also guides one back to the exact starting point. Google Maps will soon be functional on the watch without being connected to a smartphone. The watches arrive with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou receivers on board. There is a compass, barometer, temperature sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope sensor, and light sensor. There is LTE connectivity onboard and all the watches get Bluetooth v5.2 with dual-band WiFi 5 a/b/g/h and NFC support.

For those who like to stay fit, there is an optical heart rate tracker, along with ECG and a Bioelectrical Impedance or BIA sensor. The BIA analysis allows one to set a target for weight, body fat percentage, and even skeletal muscle and will guide one through a sense of incremental goals as well.

After a while of intensive cardio exercise, the watch shows one how to maximize recovery and it also recommends how much liquids one should consume based on the amount of sweat one has lost.

Sleep tracking arrives with a redesigned interface that offers a simple understanding of integral data that is collected when you sleep. The Sleep Habits Analysis showcases one’s sleep patterns with symbols and the sleep coaching program will create an exclusive program with checklists and other sleep reports along the way to create the perfect sleep schedule.

The Watch Bespoke Studio allows one to pick the model of their choice including the size, watch case, and strap. The brand is offering multiple options to customize the watch later on along with two-tone sport straps, NATO bands, a titanium link bracelet along with a Milanese Strap.

Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series

The Galaxy Watch5 Series is available for pre-order right away and will be available on the 26th of August. The 40mm dial version retails for $280 or Rs.22,135 for the Bluetooth version while the LTE version retails for $330 or Rs.26,087. The watch arrives in Graphite, Silver, and Pink Gold. The 44mm dial model arrives in Graphite, Silver, and Sapphire.

The Pro variant is priced at $450 or Rs.35,574 for the Bluetooth version while the LTE one costs $500 or Rs.39,526.In addition to this, there is an exclusive Galaxy Watch5 Gold Edition that has a two-tone band, an unlimited membership to the Smart Caddie app, and exclusive watch faces. All three models have this Gold Edition. The 40mm dial version retails at $330 for the Bluetooth-only model.
