The much-anticipated revelation may come to fruition in just two months, as a recent report suggests that Samsung is considering holding its next Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17.
This event is expected to serve as the platform for the official introduction of the Galaxy S24 series to a global audience, accompanied by details on pre-order and sale dates.
The Awaited Samsung Galaxy S24 Series
According to a report from The Elec, a Korean publication citing reliable sources, Samsung Electronics is planning to host the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event in San Jose, US on January 17, 2024. The report further indicates that on the same day, Samsung will open pre-orders for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
For those who pre-reserve these devices, the anticipated delivery window is between January 26 and January 30. As outlined in the report, the general sales for the Galaxy S24 series are expected to kick off on January 30.
The January 17 launch date has surfaced in recent weeks through various leaks, marking a slightly earlier release schedule for Samsung compared to its last two non-foldable flagship launches in February. The Galaxy S23 series was unveiled on February 1, 2023, while the Galaxy S22 lineup made its debut on February 9, 2022.
Anticipated hardware updates for the regular Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models include the incorporation of titanium frames in place of aluminum. These models are expected to retain most features from the Galaxy S23 line, with Exynos chips in select global markets and a potential variant equipped with a custom “Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy.”
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC across all markets. AI advancements and the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 skin are expected to be key features, along with the addition of an Instagram camera shortcut on the lock screen.
