According to a Korean publication, Samsung has started the mass production of some core parts of the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 smartphone. The company has officially confirmed only a vague H2 launch window for the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Note 20.
The publication has also mentioned that we can get the news of its official launch date soon, maybe in the month of May. Though it is not totally clear that when will it launch, but it is anticipated that the launch event will be held in August as the production has just started and will take some time to make available for the public.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is said to feature Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG), just like the Z Flip. It’s allegedly the same UTG by Schott and Dowoo Insys.
Korean reports say that the company is keeping the original plastic screen cover (polyimide) as a backup in case the UTG plans fall through. Some other reports claim that the Fold 2 will be cheaper than the previous Galaxy Fold.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is said to feature a 120Hz refresh rate of the display. Last year Samsung faced a severe backlash due to the faulty Fold devices that were shipped all over the world. Most of the devices showed several types of display problems. This time it is anticipated that the sales of this Fold 2 devices will multiply several times than previous year. Samsung will focus on the display this time and will try to improvise the previous impression with this Fold.
