The Samsung Galaxy A55 is undergoing internal testing by Samsung using a SoC with the model number S5E8845, which is likely the yet-to-be-announced Exynos 1480 chip. That’s because the Exynos 1380 and 1280 have, respectively, model numbers S5E8835 and S5E8825. Additionally, these chipsets drive the Galaxy A54 and A53.
Samsung Galaxy A55 SoC rumors
AMD graphics may be available on even midrange Samsung Galaxy handsets. Now, one of those gadgets is purportedly the Samsung Galaxy A55, according to an alleged leak. According to reports, the mid-range device has an AMD GPU and the brand-new Exynos 1480 SoC.
What makes the Exynos 1480 SoC noteworthy is its possible AMD GPU. A rumor from earlier this month claims that Samsung and AMD are working together to provide AMD graphics for improved performance in applications for image processing and artificial intelligence. There hasn’t been any confirmation of this report, though.
The report also asserts that the Galaxy A55 will keep the 50MP main camera that it shared with its predecessor.
