Samsung Galaxy A53 5G, Galaxy A33 5G launch with the Exynos 1280 chip and an IP67 rating

Samsung has launched its new Galaxy A-Series lineup at the Galaxy Awesome Unpacked launch event. The devices that were revealed today are the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A33 5G, let us take a detailed look at what these devices feature.

Galaxy A53 5G:

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G features a flat back with rounded edges, the back panel of the device is made out of eco-friendly and recycled polymers. The camera module is slightly protruding and it has a minimalistic design overall offering a clean look.

On the front, the display measures 6.5″ and is an FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with slim bezels. The display features a 120Hz refresh rate, a punch-hole set up in the center, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics.

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has a 5nm-based Exynos 1280 chip that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The RAM and storage can be expanded further via the Virtual RAM functionality and MicroSD slot. The device runs on Android 12 OS-based on OneUI 4.1.

The Galaxy A53 has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. Samsung has not packed a charger with the box which comes as a surprise. The device has a dust and water resistance rating of IP67 which is also a first for devices in this range.

In the optics department, the Galaxy A53 flaunts a 64MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 12MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, the device has a 32MP sensor.

The Galaxy A52 5G will be available in the US and Europe from the 1st of April. The 6GB+128GB variant will retail for $450 or 34,215 INR in the US and £400 in the UK. The 8GB+256GB variant will retail for €510 or 42,850 INR in Germany. The Galaxy A53 comes in Black, White, Blue, and Peach color options. Pre-orders begin from 18th March and you will get a free pair of the Galaxy Buds Live depending on the region.

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G:

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G looks similar to the Galaxy A53 in terms of design, the device, however, is different as Samsung has opted for a waterdrop notch-styled screen.

The Galaxy A33 has a 6.4″ FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device is powered by the Exynos 1280 chip and is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage with an option to expand the memory via a MicroSD card.

The Galaxy A33 comes with Android 12 OS-based OneUI 4.1 out-of-the-box and has the same IP67 dust and water-resistance rating. The device is juiced by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging and it has a fingerprint sensor for biometrics.

In the optics department, the smartphone has a 48MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. On the front, there is a 13MP selfie shooter.

The Galaxy A33 5G is available for German customers for €370 or 31,079 INR while UK customers will be able to get one for £330. It comes in Black, White, Peach, and Blue colors and will go on sale from the 22nd of April.
