Design and Display

Starting with the design, both the Galaxy A14 and the Redmi Note 12 feature sleek and modern aesthetics. The Galaxy A14 sports a glass back with a plastic frame, while the Redmi Note 12 offers a glass back with an aluminum frame. Both devices feel sturdy and offer a premium look and feel.

In terms of display, the Galaxy A14 comes with a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution. It offers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and good viewing angles. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 boasts a slightly larger 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It provides accurate colors and decent visibility, although it may not match the contrast levels of an AMOLED panel.

Performance

Under the hood, the Galaxy A14 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and decent performance for day-to-day tasks. The Note 12, on the other hand, houses a MediaTek Helio G96 chipset, along with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It offers comparable performance, is suitable for everyday usage, and has moderate gaming.

Camera

When it comes to photography, the Galaxy A14 features a triple-camera setup on the rear, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it offers a 13-megapixel selfie camera.

In comparison, the Note 12 also offers a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies, it features a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Both devices capture decent photos with good color reproduction and detail.

Battery

In terms of battery life, the Galaxy A14 packs a 5,000mAh battery, while the Note 12 also comes with a 5,000mAh battery. Both devices support 15W and 33W fast charging respectively, allowing you to quickly recharge your phone.

Software

The Galaxy A14 runs on Samsung’s One UI 5.0, based on Android 13, providing a user-friendly interface with a host of customization options. The Note 12, on the other hand, runs on MIUI 13, based on Android 12, offering a feature-rich experience with additional customization options. In terms of connectivity, both devices support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and USB Type-C for fast data transfer.

Pricing

When it comes to pricing, the Galaxy A14 is priced at around ₹13,999, while the Note 12 starts at approximately ₹16,999. It’s important to note that prices may vary depending on your location and any ongoing promotions or discounts.
