Leading semiconductor companies Samsung and TSMC are vying to develop “2-nanometer” processing circuits, which will power the upcoming generation of data centers, cellphones, and artificial intelligence.

Samsung and TSMC to start mass production of 2-nanometre chips in 2025.

Samsung is trying to keep its 2nm chip price lower as compared to TSMC.

A number of TSMC’s largest clients, including Apple and Nvidia, have already seen the results of the process testing conducted on its “N2” (or 2 nanometer) prototypes. TSMC is the industry leader in the processor market worldwide.

According to sources, US chipmaker Qualcomm plans to integrate Korean tech giant’s “SF2” semiconductor into its upcoming high-end smartphone CPUs. The company’s fortunes would drastically change when Qualcomm switched the majority of its flagship mobile processors from Samsung’s 4 nanometer technology to TSMC’s version.

TSMC has already given a number of its largest clients, such as Apple and Nvidia, the results of its process tests for its “N2” (or 2 nanometer) prototypes. TSMC is the market leader for processors worldwide.
