### From Chess to Comedy to Netflix — Samay’s Wild Ride

Samay Raina began his career as a chess streamer and stand-up comedian before India’s Got Latent catapulted him into mainstream recognition. The show wasn’t without drama. Season 1 ran into controversy after remarks made on the show drew public and legal scrutiny, leading Raina to pull all episodes from YouTube and take a personal hiatus.

### Why This Collaboration Is a Game-Changer

The simulcast model — streaming simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube — is virtually unheard of in Indian entertainment. It bridges premium OTT audiences with free YouTube viewers, maximising reach without sacrificing exclusivity. This is a textbook move for growing a creator-led IP into a global property.

[Stand-up comedy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stand-up_comedy), as a format, has historically thrived on accessibility — and this deal is a masterclass in exactly that.
