The two are said to have begun dating back in December 2022, first spotted together at public events, with their PDA-filled New York City outings becoming something fans eagerly followed. Three years on, the couple showed up to Met Gala 2026 twinning in coordinated looks — but it was a piece of jewellery, not their outfits, that stole the show.

Cowan was spotted wearing a large yellow square diamond ring on his finger while attending the Met Gala, further fuelling the engagement speculation.

Adding fuel to the fire, a lobby insider told Page Six that the engagement was private, describing the couple as “over the moon” and “so in love.”

It’s the kind of love story that feels very *them* — quietly meaningful behind all the glamour. The [Met Gala](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Met_Gala), known as fashion’s grandest annual fundraiser, has now become the romantic backdrop to what could be one of 2026’s biggest celebrity engagement stories.
