### Salman Khan and Kareena Rumour — Busted!

Let’s address the elephant in the room. Reports quickly circulated that Bebo was being eyed as the female lead opposite Salman. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Kareena Kapoor Khan has neither met Raj & DK nor Salman Khan regarding the film. The script is still being written, and the makers are expected to begin the casting process only towards the end of June.

As of now, Salman Khan is reportedly the only actor confirmed for the project, and no discussions regarding the female lead have taken place. The report also suggests that makers may opt for a younger actress, as the dynamic between Salman and the female lead is expected to differ from that of a conventional commercial entertainer. While the idea of casting Kareena was reportedly considered a good one, there is currently no truth to the speculation.

So yes — pure rumour. Nothing more, nothing less.

### What’s the Film Actually About?

Raj & DK are reportedly working on the screenplay, with the story revolving around a **retired superhero** — a fresh and intriguing concept for Indian cinema. The duo, known for reimagining genres with wit and style (think *The Family Man*, *Citadel: Honey Bunny*), pairing up with Salman Khan is genuinely one of Bollywood’s most exciting collisions of talent. The film is backed by **Mythri Movie Makers**, the production powerhouse also behind the Prabhas-starrer *Fauji*.

This kind of superhero storytelling — rooted in the idea of a hero past his prime — is something [Indian superhero cinema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_superhero_films) has rarely explored with this level of mainstream muscle behind it.

### What’s Next for Salman & Kareena?

Salman Khan will next be seen in *Maatrubhumi*, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, inspired by the Galwan Valley clash, also starring Chitrangda Singh. He is also set to appear in the tentatively titled *SVC63*, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, with Nayanthara as the co-lead, and Fahadh Faasil or Arvind Swamy reportedly being considered as the antagonist.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, meanwhile, will next be seen in *Daayra*, a crime thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran as the co-lead.
