Ever since arriving at Anfield, Mohamed Salah has been an absolutely world-class act and has solidified his position as one of the best players not only in the Liverpool squad but also in the world. The Egyptian has managed to win almost every trophy that can be won at the club level and has also managed to win the Premier League Golden Boot.
Speaking to AS about his future in football, Salah was asked about a potential move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the upcoming years. Here is what the Egyptian had to say:
“I think Madrid and Barcelona are top clubs… We never know what is going to happen in the future, but right now I’m focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League again with my club.”
Further in the interview, he was asked about how long he sees himself playing for the Merseyside Reds:
“[Laughs] That’s a tough one, but right now I can say that everything is in the club’s hands.”
“Of course I want to break records here and, I repeat, every record in the club, but everything’s in the hands of the club.”
Salah is currently 28 years old and is in his prime years as a footballer from a physical perspective. His contract at Liverpool runs until 2023, which means that should he be unable to negotiate a new deal with his current club, he will most likely be up for sale in the summer of 2022, since there is no way he will be let go for free.
Salah is currently the top scorer in the Premier League and has overtaken their Merseyside rivals, Evertonian striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the race for the Golden Boot this season. His 13 goals and 3 assists so far set him apart as one of the best players in the league once again.
