Mohamed Salah kicked off the new season in style, providing two assists and one goal as Liverpool beat newly promoted Championship winners Norwich City 3-0 away from home.

The Egyptian has now become the first player to score on five consecutive opening match days in the Premier League. His goal tally for Liverpool has now gone up to 95 out of 145 Premier League appearances, signifying an outstanding conversion rate and cementing his status as one of the finest attackers in England.

The 29-year-old was one of the top scorers in England last year, and has gone on to win the Golden Boot in two successive campaign, 17/18 and 18/19. He scored 32 goals in the latter, and followed it up with 22 goals to earn yet another accolade. Due to his performances in 17/18, he was awarded the Liverpool player of the season award and has gone on to lift several trophies with the club as well.

In the opening weekend alone, Salah has provided seven goals and three assists, taking his overall goal involvement to 10. Only Wayne Rooney has more opening day goal involvements than the Egyptian winger, with 13. Should the player stay in England for the years ahead, he could easily break the England legend’s record and make it his own.

Liverpool were quite impressive off the bat in their victory against Norwich, with Virgil Van Dijk’s return boosting their defense back to its best.
