Anime fans await the **Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date** announcement. Despite pulling 106.8 million viewing hours and dominating Netflix’s top 10 for 14 weeks in 2025, TMS Entertainment hasn’t confirmed Season 2. With 154 manga chapters unadapted and massive viewership, renewal seems inevitable—but when?

## Current Renewal Status

No official **Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date** exists. Season 1 concluded September 23, 2025, yet Netflix and TMS Entertainment remain silent. This surprises fans, considering how quickly other 2025 anime secured renewals.

## Why the Announcement Delay?

Production complexities likely explain the silence. Quality anime requires 12-18 months from greenlight to broadcast. If TMS hasn’t begun production, announcing a **Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date** would be premature.

The manga’s explosive popularity adds pressure. Yuto Suzuki’s series went from 7 million volumes in December 2024 to 15 million by August 2025. TMS may be securing larger budgets.

## Predicted Release Date

**Best case**: Late 2026 if production commenced.

**Realistic**: Spring-Summer 2027. Accounting for production, voice recording, and Netflix’s batch strategy, early-to-mid 2027 makes sense.

Season 1 adapted 75 chapters. Season 2 could cover through chapter 147-156. With 229 published chapters, multiple seasons are possible.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### **Has the Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date been officially confirmed?**

No. As of December 2025, neither Netflix nor TMS Entertainment announced the **Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date** or confirmed renewal. However, Season 1’s exceptional performance—106.8 million viewing hours and 40.4 million completed views—makes renewal highly probable. Industry patterns suggest announcement within 3-6 months post-finale. The delay likely reflects production planning. Given substantial unadapted manga and viewership success, expect news in early 2026.

### **When is the earliest possible Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date?**

The earliest realistic **Sakamoto Days Season 2 release date** would be late 2026, assuming production began immediately after Season 1’s September 2025 finale. However, typical anime production cycles (12-18 months) make Spring-Summer 2027 more probable. TMS Entertainment must complete pre-production, animation, voice recording, and post-production. Netflix’s batch-release model also impacts timing. Monitor official TMS and Netflix anime announcements.
