A financial scheme operating under the name Sahara India Pariwar is known as the Sahara Fraud case in India. It is a conglomerate with holdings in the media, real estate, finance, and other industries. It is led by Shara Subrata Roy.

They run a number of financial scams that take money from millions of Indian investors. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) concluded in 2008 that securities regulations were broken by Sahara’s investment plans.

They claimed that Sahara had acquired money from investors without getting the required regulatory licenses by using fully convertible debentures (OFCDs). They conned several investors and raised a total of about Rs. 24,000 crores throughout India. Following this, there were other court battles involving the matter. The case made it all the way to the Indian Supreme Court, which ordered Sahara to give investors their money back.

The Sahara Claims Refund System (CRCS) was created in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in order to start the reimbursement procedure. In order to be eligible for refunds, investors must provide the company with documentation proving their investment. Sahara credited the investor’s bank account and started the reimbursement procedure via the CRCS.
