Sadio Mane has refused to rule out a transfer away from Liverpool when asked about his future. The winger was asked about his contract situation recently, and said that he would reveal his decision after the Champions League final on Saturday.
He said: ‘For sure it will be special to win it, and make it seven (European Cup wins for the club). And this question (my future) I will answer after the Champions League. Stay or not – I’ll answer after the Champions League.’
Sadio Mane future uncertain amidst contract talks
Liverpool have offered the Senegalese a new deal, and are negotiating with his agents about a new deal. But, they haven’t been able to reach an agreement on the terms of the deal yet.
As a result, the winger has been linked with a move away. Clubs like Bayern Munich and PSG have emerged as possible destinations for him should he choose to leave Merseyside this summer. But since there are negotiations going on for a few weeks, it could also mean that Sadio Mane has decided to spend the next few years of his career at Anfield.
His teammate, Mohamed Salah, has committed to staying at Liverpool at least for the coming season. The Egyptian is out of a contract in 2023 as well, and could leave for free if he doesn’t renew his contract within a year.
Liverpool will be facing Real Madrid in the finals of the Champions League, in a rematch from 2018 which Los Blancos won.
