Every Marvel era needs a face. Iron Man had one, and so did the Avengers. As Phase 7 approaches, Marvel Studios appears to have picked its new standard-bearer, and it’s a mutant.

### Sadie Sink Snapshot

| Detail | Info |
| --- | --- |
| **Phase 7 begins** | After *Avengers: Secret Wars* (Dec 17, 2027) |
| **Reported face of the phase** | Sadie Sink as Jean Grey |
| **X-Men reboot** | May 5, 2028 |
| **Ghost Rider (Ryan Gosling)** | July 28, 2028 |
| **Black Panther 3** | December 15, 2028 |
| **Disney+** | *X-Men ’97* Season 4 |

Note that “face of Phase 7” is The Direct’s analysis, not an official Marvel statement.

### Why Sadie Sink?

Jean Grey becomes the first X-Men character introduced in the MCU through *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*. Sink then introduced the rest of the confirmed cast at D23 this year. The X-Men reboot also stars Adam Driver and Inde Navarrette, and all signs point to Sink being groomed as a leading presence.

### Six Characters to Watch

**Spider-Man (Tom Holland):** After the success of *Brand New Day*, a *Spider-Man 5* is rumored, possibly with director Destin Daniel Cretton, and a 2029 release seems plausible.

**Storm (Maya Boyd):** A relative newcomer joining the X-Men, with Marvel’s record of making stars from unknown actors.

**T’Challa (David Jonsson):** He arrives in *Black Panther 3* as T’Challa’s son, as the mantle passes on from Letitia Wright’s Shuri.

**Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh):** Named the MCU’s new Black Widow, she’ll come off *Doomsday* and *Secret Wars* into Phase 7.

**Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal):** A *Fantastic Four* sequel is only rumored, but there are open 2029 slots.

**Ghost Rider (Ryan Gosling):** His solo film introduces the Spirit of Vengeance this summer of 2028.

### The X-Men Double Feature

The X-Men will also take over Disney+ with *X-Men ’97* Season 4, currently the only known MCU streaming property scheduled beyond 2027. That movie-and-TV combo should keep the team highly visible.
