Every great MCU mystery has its tipping point — the moment fan theories stop feeling like wishful thinking and start sounding like spoilers. The Sadie Sink-Jean Grey rumour surrounding *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* has officially crossed that line.

The *Stranger Things* star is confirmed to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man film, but Marvel hasn’t revealed her character. What started as early internet speculation has snowballed into a web of insider scoops, leaked costume clues, and even Sink herself nervously deflecting questions. So what do we actually know?

## Spider-Man: Brand New Day Evidence So Far

The latest rumour suggests that Sink wears green and yellow in *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* and has similar powers to [Jean Grey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Grey). Insider reports indicate she is being chased by the Department of Damage Control (DODC), which theorists believe is targeting mutants. Further insider claims state that during a key tank scene, Sink uses mind-control powers to manipulate those around her, including another character played by Liza Colón-Zayas. Sink herself added fuel to the fire when she revealed: “Before I got cast, there was speculation online that said ‘Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man.’ Sure enough, two days later, they asked me to do it. Those theories — there’s sometimes some truth to them.” [comicbookmovie](https://comicbookmovie.com/horror/psycho-killer-devilishly-dull-slasher-movie-from-se7en-writer-hits-rotten-tomatoes-with-0-a226544)

## Why It Actually Makes Sense

The DODC has a history of hunting down powered individuals in the MCU — they went after Kamala Khan and considered using Simon Williams as an asset. If Brand New Day sees the DODC chasing mutants like Jean Grey, it could set the foundation for the X-Men’s introduction into the larger MCU narrative.

Sink is also confirmed to return for *Avengers: Secret Wars*, which suggests her role is far from a minor cameo — pointing strongly toward a major character introduction with franchise-wide consequences.
