New Zealand police have officially cleared Cape Verde captain Ryan Mendes of all rape allegations following an extensive investigation. Authorities found no evidence to substantiate the claims, leading to a dramatic legal shift. Instead, a 40-year-old woman now faces criminal charges for providing false statements. Mendes remains team captain, with the legal focus now entirely on the upcoming court proceedings.
