The cops were called to Giggs’s house at 10:05 PM on Monday, 2nd November on grounds of disturbance. The 46-year-old’s partner was allegedly the victim of an assault by the man, and there were accusations of actual bodily harm.

Further reports state that the woman was mildly injured, but not in need of any treatment. Giggs was taken into custody by the Greater Manchester Police on Monday evening and was released on bail following questioning by the Police.

In the aftermath of this incident, the board have released a statement mentioning that Giggs and the Wales board have mutually agreed that the next few games will not be managed by the former Manchester United midfielder.

“The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp,” read an official statement on Tuesday.

“Our agreed immediate priority is preparing the team for the upcoming international matches.

“Robert Page, with Ryan’s support, will take charge for the next three matches against the USA, Republic of Ireland and Finland supported by Albert Stuivenberg.

“The Cymru squad for these upcoming matches will be announced on Thursday 5th November.

“The FAW will not be making any further comment at this current time.”

The press conference with Giggs where he was scheduled to unveil his national team squad has also been cancelled owing to the events that took place late on Monday evening.

The accused is said to be cooperating fully with the police, and has also denied any accusations or claims of assault that have been made against him.
