Rumours: Intel’s Alder Lake 40% slower than previously estimated

Intel’s upcoming Alder Lake is expected to take the CPU performance up the notch in the market and as such the company is expected to invest it all in the upcoming next-generation SKU family.

Intel will soon be releasing its Alder Lake by the end of this year, and according to fresh leaks, it is being indicated that we could see a 20% IPC uplift in single-threaded workloads and double the multi-threaded performance in some workloads. However, it’s also true that the performance uplift information is being advertised by Intel itself and as such, it should be treated with skepticism.

However, there is also a new post from the South Korean tech forums Client, that suggests that Alder Lake processors could be 40% slower than earlier anticipated. But that post also doesn’t specify the complete as to which processor the Alder Lake is compared against.

So, we really can’t believe the legitimacy of the post as there is no mentioning of the tested platform for the Alder Lake, and with the lack of proper BIOS and drivers, it’s hard to believe that those numbers are the actual performance of the CPU.

Rumors also indicate that the entry-level model of Intel’s Xe DG2 HPG line of graphics cards will come with at least 6GB of GRRD6 VRAM. The entry-level SKU is expected to be significantly cheaper than AMD and Nvidia models, having similar specs.
