The Chinese flexible display manufacturer Royole has launched Flexpai 2. The device looks much more refined from both the hardware and software perspective while it also undercuts the foldable competition from Huawei and Samsung in terms of price.
Last year, the Chinese flexible display manufacturer Royole launched its FlexPai foldable phone. That phone made a huge impact on the market of foldable smartphones – beating Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X.
In this year, back in March, the company announced that they were working on the improvements over the successor of FlexPai, dubbed as FlexPai 2. As well as we have got the specifications of this handset, so let’s check out all these specifications.
This handset is powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset. This phone offers two types of RAM and storage variants – 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage and another one is 12GB RAM with 512GB internal storage. This phone also comes with a customized version of Android 10 installed that it has dubbed with Water OS 2.
Regarding the display, this phone features a 7.8-inches main display with (1920×1440) pixels of screen resolution-when folded outwards and around become a main display of 5.5-inches with (1440×900) pixels of resolution and the secondary display features a 5.4-inches display with (1440×800) pixels of resolutions. It also folds shut-flat.
Let’s enlighten the camera part – The Royole FlexPai 2 has a quad rear camera setup, which includes- 64 MP main sensor with an f/1.89 lens, alongside 16 MP F/2.2 Ultra-wide camera, 8MP F/2.4 telephoto camera with 3x Optical Zoom, and lastly a 32MP portrait snapper with an f/2.0 lens.
Regarding the pricing, the basic version of this phone will set to be priced at US$1470 whereas another variant will be priced at US$1710.
This handset comes with a much more polished display than its predecessor and it also has a dual-display multitasking approach. This phone also has a third-generation ‘Cicada Wing’ for a fully flexible display- which indicates that this phone has been certified to withstand repeated bending up to 1.8 million times. Physically, the folding technology is also very much durable, which can withstand all types of bends including rolling up the display.
