Royal Enfield Spied Testing 750cc Faired Motorcycle

Royal Enfield is generating buzz among motorcycle enthusiasts with new updates to its mid-capacity range. Spy shots of a faired bike, possibly derived from the Continental GT 650 and its first with a 750cc engine. A completely new motorcycle, photographed with spy pics by Daniel M and Matthews in Chennai, India — the machine seems to be a sportier version of the Continental GT 650 including an array of interesting modifications.

The most significant change is the extensive fairing, which runs farther down over the chassis than in smaller items we’ve seen on past test mules. An update that implies a tourer, if not better aerodynamics.

Up front, you get the familiar round LED headlamp that’s typical of the brand, while turn signals are neatly integrated into the fairing as well. You get clip-on handlebars with a sporty position, reminiscent of a cafe racer vibes along with an elongated seat for comfort on longer rides. The bike looks quite sporty with features like alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and a black exhaust.

Moving on to performance, the bike features a dual front disc setup that should provide better braking output. A concealed digital display hints at a streamlined cockpit design. Most exciting of all, however, is news that a 750cc parallel-twin engine could also be introduced.

Such a product has long been rumored in conjunction with Royal Enfield’s current 650cc engine gaining capacity. It is entering the sub-500 cc arena with a 750cc engine expected to produce more power than the existing model’s 46 bhp, so better thrills should be had as well. The test bike features a new engine casing, likely indicating the 750cc engine and the dual front brake discs suggest that Royal Enfield is testing components to match the increased power.

It will be added to the already existing 650cc portfolio that consists of Continental GT 650, Interceptor 650, and Super Meteor 650 models in faired guise. If made true and powered by a 750cc engine, this needs to be the performance standard-setter for Royal Enfield. The 750cc variant would build on the current 650cc engine’s refined power delivery and smooth NVH levels, elevating the brand’s performance further.
