The 32-year-old Fijian striker was in splendid form during ISL 2019-20 season by scoring 15 goals and providing six assists for ATK as they went on to claim their third league title.

Krishna started his journey in 2008 with Waitakere United and played for five years there. He was just 21 when he proved his efficiency in the New Zealand Football Championship as he led his team to five domestic titles by scoring 71 goals during his time at Waitakere. The Fijian striker also won the Golden Boot in 2012-13.

Later on, Roy Krishna was soon in the limelight and was spotted by Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. Then he decided to move to Europe and signed for Auckland City FC, a champion side in the top division of Kiwi football, in 2013. Roy Krishna, later on, found his way into the highly-competitive A-League as Wellington Phoenix, who signed him as an injury replacement for  Paul Ifill in 2014, and then there was no looking back for the super talented Fijian striker and helped him earn the club legend’s status.

In the 2018-19 season he even bagged the Johnny Warren Medal, an award presented to the best footballer in the Australian domestic league. Finally, for the season 2019-2020, Krishna joined ATK and extended his contract for the season 2020-2021 as a part of ATKMB.

Interestingly, he was included as one of the three over-aged players in the the Fijian team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where he was named the captain of the team. The striker also scored Fiji’s first-ever goal at the Olympic with a 10th-minute strike against Mexico.

Krishna has now developed a strong understanding with David Williams and Manvir Singh this season on the upfront and is one of the club’s go-to and also key players whenever the club goes down. He will now want to help the three-time ISL champion to become the first club to successfully defend its title in the league history.
