Roundglass Punjab have been crowned the champions of the 2022/23 I-League, and have earned promotion to the ISL for the coming season. The club finished at the top of the table with 52 points from 22 games.

And in doing so, they became the first team to cross the 50-point mark in a decade. The last time this was achieved was by Churchill Brothers in 2012/13. Their promotion to the top flight remains subject to a licence and a green light from all the shareholders of the club.

Punjab won their final game of the season 2-0 against TRAU to finally get their hands on the trophy. They have been in remarkable form this season, and ended with a perfect home record.

Prior to Roundglass Punjab, the only other team to represent North India in the ISL was Delhi Dynamics. But becoming the first team to gain promotion into the top flight, they will become the second team to do so.

AIFF (All India Football Federation) President Kalyan Chaubey congratulated the side and said, “Very fulfilling to see an I-league club bought three years ago, run professionally with a low budget and focus on grassroots, academy and Youth Development to bring the I-league trophy back to north India. Congratulations RoundGlass Punjab FC!”
