Brazil legend Ronaldinho has hit out at the current national team squad, calling them the worst team in years. He also went on to declare that he would not watch any Copa America games and would not celebrate any wins.
The Selecao are in a dire situation when it comes to their FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, as they are currently sixth in the table, with only one victory from their last five games. Their two most recent games ended in a narrow 3-2 win over Mexico, before they drew 1-1 with the USA.

“That’s it folks, I’ve had enough,” he wrote on Instagram
“This is a sad moment for those who love Brazilian football. It’s getting hard to find the spirit to watch the games.
“This is perhaps one of the worst teams in recent years, it has no respectable leaders, only average players for the majority.
“I’ve been following football since I was a kid, long before I thought about becoming a player, and I’ve never seen a situation as bad as this.
“A lack of love for the shirt, lack of grit and the most important of all: football.
“I repeat, our performance has been one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. Such a shame.
“I therefore declare my resignation. I will not watch anyย Copa Amรฉricaย game, nor celebrate any victory.”

The fact that there are very few experienced leaders in the locker room is true, with many veterans now phased out of the squad. Dorival Junior’s team is youthful, and their inexperience can sometimes be overly visible in terms of decision making.
While Ronaldinho’s statement is now doubt a difficult read for any Brazil patron or player, Raphinha has provided a different perspective on the situation.
The Barcelona winger revealed that Ronaldinho had recently asked Vinicius Jr for tickets to Brazil matches, showing that his actions don’t align with his words as things stand. He also disagreed with the legend’s comments, saying that the players are passionate about the team and are putting in their best efforts.
