Ronald Koeman to replace Quique Setien at Barcelona

After losing to Bayern Munich by 8-2, the Cantabrian coach will be sacked and the Barcelona board meeting has taken place today where there were a number of options like Pochettino, Koeman, and Xavi. Now, as per previous rumors, Ronald Koeman is the right man for Barcelona as he was previously spotted in Barcelona and arrived on a private flight.

In the board meeting today, Setien’s dismissal has been finalized and according to Fabrizio Romano, Ronald Koeman has been chosen by the board. The Dutchman will be leaving the Netherlands national and will be joining Barcelona in their difficult times.

Koeman is a proper candidate for Barcelona as he one of the great legends in the history of the club, where he was from 1989 to 1995. Soon, after his agreement with the club, he will be officially announced as the next manager of the Blaugranas and he will be coaching the team but it will be interesting to how he handles the sunken ship of the club.

The Dutch team international has been a familiar face to the club during his stay at the club and is fond of the Cruyff style of play, also a figure that Messi will be happy with playing under. Ronald Koeman has won nine of his 14 competitive games as the Netherlands manager, one fewer than his four predecessors put together (10/20 with Hiddink, Blind, Grim, Advocaat).

Previously too Barcelona thought of appointing him but he was too busy preparing for the national team but now due to the pandemic the situations are different now. So, it will be a new test for the Dutchman to bring peace at the club make changes to the team to bring back the glory.
