The future generations of Barcelona supporters must be happy because[Ronald Araujo](https://technosports.co.in/tag/ronald-araujo/) does not leave the club. The Uruguayan center-back, who had been said to be joining Juventus last January, has decided to remain at the club.

## Deco’s Crucial Intervention

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, was the one who influenced the decision. He even told Araujo that “the team would suffer greatly if you left the stadium”. Thus, he announced the player’s importance to the team and encouraged him to continue playing for the team. This attempts seems to have resulted in the 25-year-old reconsidering his options.

> 🚨🇺🇾 Barça president Laporta on Juventus and Ronald Araújo: “You should ask Deco… I want Araújo to stay. I think we can find a solution”.

## Potential Contract Extension

Though [Ronald Araujo’s](https://technosports.co.in/tag/ronald-araujo/) present contract continues until the year 2026, his club, Barcelona, is currently in the process of putting out the offers for extending it. The purpose of this move is to keep him on the line with the club and to let the other major league European teams know that they are serious.

## Team Support

Head coach Hansi Flick and the players who are his teammates in the Araujo also contributed much to his choice. Their backing and highlighting of his worth to the team seem to have been improved his commitment to Barcelona.

> 🚨🇺🇾 Hansi Flick on Ronald Araújo: “I will not reveal what my conversations with him are. But he’s a Barça player, nothing has changed”.
>
> “We saw when he entered how good he is, once again. He’s a leader, one of the best in the world. We expect the best from Ronald”. [pic.twitter.com/gKRyXy8OFA](https://t.co/gKRyXy8OFA)

## Why Keeping Araujo Matters

- He is a main man in [Barcelona’s](https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/)defense that helps them. Staying with the club is part of the club’s future sustainable plan. There is no denying that it should be valuable to Barcelona if Ronald Araujo is kept to boost fan morale by setting aside the all-the-time money snores.

Thus, it is foreseen that Ronald Araujo will continue to represent Barcelona this season. This is a great development for the people of the team as they work on extending their contracts, and the fans can look forward to Araujo’s stable defense even more in the future.
