Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed that Romelu Lukaku will make his second Chelsea debut against Arsenal in the London derby on Sunday.

The Belgian returned to Chelsea in a €115 million transfer that saw the Champions League winner smash their transfer record only a season after setting a new one with Kai Havertz.

‘We are hoping he is on the pitch on Sunday,’ said Tuchel. ‘We hope he is [the missing piece in the puzzle] but at the same time we try to find solutions for any questions we are asked during the games.

‘We still want to be a strong squad. Romelu is the kind of personality and profile we were missing up front and from now it’s our job to push ourselves to the limit.

Romelu Lukaku on wanting to retire at Chelsea:

“It’s the right move for me, for the rest of my career. With a lot of maturity and experience, you come back as a player who can hopefully help the team long term.” pic.twitter.com/mPw81CpU8X

‘Romelu is unique. He can play with his back to goal but also he is at his strongest in transition, with his immense speed. Add to that the fact he is a true goalscorer so he is unique – a new experience for me.

‘Of course we expect goals and he expects that too. He has delivered goals wherever he has been and we will see how far his impact goes.’

The Blues will travel to the Emirates for their second Premier League outing this term, and come off an impressive victory against Crystal Palace. Arsenal, on the other hand, come into the game off a defeat against Premier League newbies Brentford and are the ‘underdogs’ according to Thomas Tuchel.
