## **What Is Uncorked About?**

The official Netflix synopsis reads: “Uncorked delves into the life of a talented but self-destructive winemaker who returns to Napa for her second chance at love, legacy, and that elusive 100-point wine. Not that she’s constantly refreshing WineSpectator.com or anything. This is a woman whose greatest passion is also her fatal flaw — a failing that usually begins before lunch on Tuesday”

That last line alone tells you everything about the tone — sharp, self-aware, warm, and deliciously witty. This is Darren Star at his most playful. A world-class talent whose perfectionism is destroying her personal life, set against the most romantic wine destination on earth. Think *Emily in Paris* energy — but grounded in ambition, obsession, and the terrifying love of craft.

## **The Dream Team Behind It**

Darren Star said about the project: “Seeing audiences around the world fall in love with Emily in Paris has been a dream. As Emily’s story continues to unfold, I’m excited to explore a new world with Uncorked — diving straight into the legacy and romance of Napa Valley, where every great vintage has a unique story to tell.”

Co-showrunner David Schulner added with characteristic charm: “Darren and I wanted to create a series that explores what happens when your greatest passion is also your Achilles’ heel. We want to thank Netflix and Universal Television for indulging our copious amounts of day drinking in the name of meticulous research.”

Crucially, Netflix confirmed that Uncorked won’t affect Darren Star’s role as showrunner on *Emily in Paris*, which has been renewed for a sixth season with filming beginning in Q2 2026. The man is somehow running two of the most anticipated romantic series in Netflix history simultaneously.
