ASUS has won the race to launch a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset, the brand has already confirmed the presence of the ROG Phone 6 Series that is set to debut on the 5th of July. The 3C Authority of China recently approved two smartphones from this series with the model numbers AI2201_A and AI2201_B models respectively. The latter has successfully gone through the TENAA certification and we have an idea of some of its specs:

ASUS ROG Phone 6 TENAA specifications:

The ROG Phone 6 with model number AI2201_B arrives with a 10.39mm thickness and weighs 299g. It features a 6.78″ AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate of 165Hz. The device runs on Android 12 OS with ROG Phone UI.

The star of the show, no doubt is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset powering it, the chip clocks at 3.2GHz and it supports up to 18GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. In terms of battery life, we will see a 6,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.

ASUS has integrated a 12MP sensor on the front while on the rear there is a triple camera unit with a 64MP primary sensor and for biometrics, it has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The TENAA listing, unfortunately, does not reveal any images of the smartphone but previous reports hint at a revamped rear design.

The ROG Phone 6 Series will be announced on the 5th of July in China, Taiwan, and the USA. It will go on sale a while after its launch.
