If you work hard, it will always reward you with success.
Rishabh Pant is currently getting the reward back of his hard work. A few months back he often criticized for his poor performance. But he got back his form again in Australia series. His knocks against Australia in Sydney and Brisbane helped India to lift the Border-Gavaskar trophy by making history.
However, the young wicket-keeper is continuing his form against England as well. He made his maiden century in India today against England.
At the stumps of day 2, India is now 294 for 7. India is leading by 89 runs in the first Innings.
India started the day on 24 for 1. England bos1sed the first session as James Anderson and other bowlers were testing the Indian batsmen pretty much. Virat Kohli was gone for a duck. Cheteswar Pujara [17] and Ajinkya Rahane [27] were also gone in a low score.
Rishabh Pant [101] and Washington Sundar [60] put up an excellent performance today to put India in an advantageous position.
After today’s display, Pant said, “The plan was just to build a partnership when I joined Rohit, that was the only thing on my mind. I was thinking I would assess the pitch and then play my shots. If the bowlers are bowling well respect it and take the singles, and that was on my mind. The team plan was to get to 206, past the England total, and then get as many runs as possible after that. You have to premeditate reverse-flicks, but if luck is going your way you can take the odd chance. I get the license most of the time, but I have to assess the situation and take the game head-on. I like to make the team win and if the crowd is entertained by that, I’m happy.
