Wolves are interested in signing Riqui Puig from Barcelona this summer, according to Diario Sport. The Premier League club has been linked with the midfielder for a while now, and it seems like a transfer could now be on the cards between the two clubs.
Puig broke into the first team under Ronald Koeman, and showed glimpses of what he could achieve. But although Koeman has been replaced by Xavi on the bench, the midfielder has not been able to get more game time.
And with the likes of Gavi, Pedri, Sergio Busquets and Nico all vying for a spot in the heart of the park, it seems like Riqui Puig is down in the pecking order at Camp Nou. So, a move away would be beneficial for all parties involved.
Wolves could structure creative deal with Riqui Puig
Barcelona’s Francisco Trincao is already on a loan spell at Wolves. On the other hand, Adama Traore is on loan at his former club, with the option to buy. The Spanish winger has been able to put in some remarkable performances with his boyhood club.
And as a result, it is likely that Barcelona would want to make his move permanent. So, the two clubs could structure a deal that would see an exchange deal without any money involved.
The 22-year-old is a La Masia graduate, and everything depends on whether or not he is willing to move away from Camp Nou to further his career.
