After his breakout season at Bologna, Riccardo Calafiori is set to join Arsenal with a deal agreed between the two clubs. The Premier League side will pay €40 million up-front, alongside €5 million in add-ons. Bologna will also have a sell-on clause included in the deal, allowing them to receive a percentage of any future fee.
Basel and Bologna are now discussing the payment terms of the 50% sell-on clause in place between them, before the move is finalised.

Juventus were interested in signing the Italy international this summer, but were beaten in the transfer race by Arsenal. The deal is set to be wrapped up in the coming week, once the clubs have finalised the terms of the transfer.
Calafiori had a decent performance at Euro 2024, but unfortunately conceded an own goal in the group stage. Regardless, he remains a highly rated player and could be a very valuable addition to Arsenal’s backline.
This season, Arsenal will benefit not only from the addition of Riccardo Calafiori but also from the return of Jurrien Timber, who spent most of 23/24 on the sidelines.
