Nottingham Forest are close to announcing their 18th signing of the season – Renan Lodi. The 24-year-old will be joining from Atletico Madrid on a year-long loan deal, with the option to buy.

The loan fee for the left-back is expected to be around €5 million. Once the spell is completed in 2023, Forest will have the option to make the deal permanent for around €30 million. After Lodi, Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Serge Aurier as their 19th new player of the transfer window.

Personal terms have been finalised between the player and the club. And now, only the medical assessment and formalities need to be completed before he is announced as a new player for the club. The official announcement could come from the club as soon as today.

Over the course of the last two months, Forest have been able to sign almost an entire new squad to keep them up in the top flight. Sergio Reguilon is the rumoured option for Diego Simeone to replace Renan Lodi, once his departure is finalised.

Reguilon has been ruled out of the Spurs squad by Antonio Conte, with Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic the preferred options. The Spaniard will also be joining Atletico on a loan deal, and the final details will be sorted out soon.
