Reliance Retail is gearing ready to launch its Tira beauty e-commerce site and operate its physical stores. According to a top official, the first physical Tira store would open in Mumbai in April before expanding nationwide in both freestanding and “shop-in-shop” forms. The men’s beauty, luxury, bathing, fragrances, cosmetics, skincare, and hair care departments of Tira will be available. All Reliance employees can presently access the site, but the general public will soon have access as well.

On the sidelines of an event hosted by the industry chamber FICCI, Reliance Retail Director Subramaniam V confirmed the development. When asked about Tira’s offline expansion, the official responded, “It will launch in Mumbai in the month of April. Subramaniam V stated that Reliance Retail has enough stores to expand the platform throughout India without providing a specific number. The non-premium name is still up in the air, but Tira would be the premium brand, he said.

He went on to say that Tira might be selling luxury goods under the umbrella of a distinct category named Tira Red. Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. (RRVL) purchased a majority interest in the cosmetics and personal care company Insight Cosmetics last year. Insight Cosmetics has the highest opening price points on popular e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart, and Nyka.
Reliance Retail, according to Subramaniam, is one of the industry’s major participants in the beauty industry. In a 2021 analysis, the international market research firm Statista predicted that online sales would increase by 18.2% over the following five years, placing India fourth in the world in terms of income generated by the beauty and personal care business, just behind the US, China, and Japan.
