To ease the hassle of activation, Reliance Jio iActivate has been launched, a service that allows consumers to activate their SIM cards from home. The new service allows both physical SIMs and eSIMs, making it easier for first-time users to get set up.

What is Jio iActivate?

Introducing Jio iActivate– to activate your SIM simply using your mobile device and without any need to visit any store. The activation mechanism is simple enough, it requires users to take a live photo or video and upload the required documents. The relation continues even further as this entire mechanism is handled via the My Jio app providing an in-app experience for users.

Apart from the iActivate service, Jio provides another way for SIM activation. Users can order a Jio SIM online with the added convenience of free home delivery. The SIM will also be personally delivered by a Jio agent who will help in activating the connection so that users can get started immediately.

How to Use Jio iActivate

Users can use the iActivate service on Android and iOS platforms. To begin with, users first have to download and install the My Jio app from their app stores. When the app is installed, clicking on the iActivate banner on Landscreen will direct users to where they can purchase and activate a new SIM card. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use the service:

  • Open the My Jio app on your mobile device.
  • Tap on the iActivate banner visible on the home page of the app.
  • You will be redirected to a page where you can order a SIM card with free home delivery.
  • Enter your mobile number and the OTP received on your phone.
  • Choose between an eSIM or a physical SIM.
  • Select the ‘Jio iActivate’ option to proceed.
  • For KYC (Know Your Customer) verification, choose either Aadhaar OTP or Digilocker.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process from your home.

Alternatively, more traditional customers can call the Jio sales or care teams to have drivers deliver them a SIM card. This is also the time when customers can choose their mobile number as well.

In terms of overall user experience, Jio iActivate streamlines the cumbersome SIM activation process, makes it simple and easy to navigate, and is consistent with Jio’s aim to be more customer-centric than ever before.
